My name is Steve and I am the founder of lookafteryourdog.co.uk, we provide an alternative to Kennelling your dog whilst you are away on Holiday or Business etc.
+ What do you do?
We board our customers dogs in our home. The dogs are treated like they were our own and given walks twice a day and played with and petted by the family.
+ Why do you need me to join your team?
We are providing a service which people really want! They love their dogs and they don't want to put them in Kennels or their dogs don't thrive in a Kennel environment so they use us as an alternative!
Naturally we can only cater for one families dogs at any one time and so to ensure we can cater for more dogs, we are looking for dog lovers who will provide a quality service to compliment our own!
+ Why don't I set up my own business?
Technically you are! You will be a home boarder like us but by joining our team we offer you some great benefits.

+ What if I need some help or advice?
You can call me 24/7 if you have problems or issues you need help with. I can help with any dog related problem you may have and if the dog is ill or requires Veterinarian treatment, I will transport the dog to the Vets for you!
+ Won't I need Insurance?
I will provide you with cover under my Insurance policy, as you will be carrying out work for me. You will not need to pay anything for this service.
+ Will I need to be registered with the council?
Yes! I will fully brief you on the requirements of the Licence. You will be visited by Environmental health just to ensure that you have a secure garden and adequate facilities to look after the dogs.
There is a £90 per year fee for the licence from Walsall Council and £115 for Birmingham Council, which is the only cost you will incur in setting up your business! You will recoup this money and be in profit after 2 weeks boarding!
+ Do I pay for the Licence?
Yes you are responsible for paying the licence, but one boarding can pay it back and there are no other outlays to find!
+ If I join how does it work?
The best way to answer that is to ask you to view the home boarding pages of this site.That is what the customers are told will be offered to them as a service and that is what you will be providing.
In a nutshell, you will be contacted by us with a prospective customer. At a time and date to suit, you will meet them and the dog and have a chat during which all of the questions and isues can be addressed and the formalities completed.
Once this is done, the customer will decide if they wish to use you or seek someone else to care for their dog. If they accept you, then they will book with us.
A £5 deposit per day is charged by us to cover all administration fees, the website costs and your Insurance cover by us. This is non-refundable and retained by us. On the first day of the dogs boarding, you will be paid the one or two dog fee outstanding. On the preliminary visit by them and the dogs to your home, you should discuss what payment method you prefer.
When they arrive to leave their dog with you, they will bring all of his/her requirements, food, treats, bedding, collar and lead etc. hey will also have a vet release form for you, so that treatment at their expense is authorised.
And that is it! We will provide you with dogs to care for and everything else will be taken care of by us! Simple!

Remember there is no obligation on you whatsoever! Even after you have paid
your Licence fee, if you no longer wish to board the dogs, that is entirely up
to you! If you only wish to board dogs at certain times, that is absolutely
fine, the choice is yours! That is why we recommend working with us, to
minimise any hassle or problems to yourself!
