General Terms

1. Ownership and Health of the Dog

You must confirm that you are the legal owner of your dog. For every booking, your dog must not have been ill with any contagious disease or condition within the last 30 days. You agree to inform Lookafteryourdog Ltd. of any such illness before a booking. All necessary vaccinations, flea, and worm treatments must be up to date.

2. Socialisation and Risks

You acknowledge and accept that your dog may socialise with other dogs and that there are inherent risks involved. Lookafteryourdog Ltd. is not liable for any injuries or illnesses that result from your dog's attendance. For puppies under 12 months, you consent to them mixing with adult dogs and accept the associated risks.

3. Behavioural Disclosure

You must disclose any known dangers associated with your dog. If your dog has a history of aggression or biting, or if it becomes aggressive and unsafe during its stay, Lookafteryourdog Ltd. reserves the right to refuse care. In such cases, your dog may be placed in boarding kennels at your expense until you return.

4. Transportation Risks

You accept the risks associated with using our collection and drop-off service, including the potential for injury during transportation.

5. Liability Waiver

You expressly waive and release any claims against Lookafteryourdog Ltd., its employees, and representatives, except for those arising from their negligence.

6. Emergency and Veterinary Care

In an emergency, you authorise Lookafteryourdog Ltd. to transport your dog to your veterinarian or another veterinarian if needed. You authorise all necessary treatments and agree to be responsible for all costs. Lookafteryourdog Ltd. is released from all liability related to the transportation to and from veterinary treatment for sickness and emergencies. You authorise Lookafteryourdog Ltd. to approve treatments up to £500 without seeking further permission from you or your emergency contact.

7. Photography and Media

You consent to your dog being photographed and videotaped for use in any media or advertising by Lookafteryourdog Ltd. All such media become the property of Lookafteryourdog Ltd.

8. Service Provider Responsibilities

Lookafteryourdog Ltd. and its staff will perform services attentively, reliably, and with care, using all reasonable skill. We will comply with all relevant statutes, regulations, byelaws, and codes of conduct.

9. Client’s Obligations

You must provide all necessary information for us to provide our services. You confirm that all required vaccinations, treatments, licenses, and permits for your pet are current and in compliance with the law. You are responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from any injury caused by your pet to the Service Provider or any other person. You must ensure the Service Provider has access to your home or a specified location at agreed times.

10. Fees, Payment, and Cancellations

You agree to pay the quoted fees promptly when they are due. You will also reimburse us for any additional fees for emergency care, unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies. If a payment is not made by the due date, we may charge interest at an annual rate of 8% on the outstanding amount. If a payment remains unpaid for 7 days, we are relieved of our contractual obligations until the payment is made.

Payment Schedule:

• Dog boarding and pet sitting: Payment is due 14 days before the service begins.
• Daycare, dog walking, and one-off drop-in visits: Payment is due by 6 p.m. the day before the service begins.
• Daycare, dog walking, and repeat drop-in visits: Payment is due in arrears at the end of the week the services were provided.

Cancellation Policy:

• Dog boarding and pet sitting: You may cancel up to 14 days before the service begins without penalty. No refunds will be considered if you cancel within 14 days of the service start date.
• Daycare, dog walking, and drop-in visits: You may cancel before 6 p.m. the night before the service without penalty. No refunds will be considered if you cancel after 6 p.m. the day before the service.
• If Lookafteryourdog Ltd. cancels a service, we will either arrange an alternative or the service provider will refund all or part of any money paid. Please note that the non-refundable booking fee is separate from the boarder's fee and is non-refundable when required to be paid.

11. Liability, Insurance, and Indemnity

Lookafteryourdog Ltd. will maintain suitable and valid insurance, including Public Liability Insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your property, its contents, and your pets are adequately insured. You accept full liability for any event resulting from your pet's behaviour and will indemnify us against any damage or injury caused by your pet. We are not liable for any loss, illness, or injury to your pet unless our negligence can be proven.

12. General Provisions

• Force Majeure: Neither party is liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond its control, such as acts of God, war, strikes, or floods.
• Assignment: We may use qualified subcontractors to perform our obligations. Any actions or omissions by a subcontractor are considered our actions or omissions⁴⁴.
• Data Protection: We will comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not share your information with third parties unless necessary to perform our duties⁴⁵.
• Governing Law: This agreement is governed by English Law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
